Description
Hogben Farmhouse is a house that dates back to the 16th century or earlier, with an extension added in 1973. The building features a timber frame, with some parts exposed and others filled with plaster. The lower sections are built with red brick in a mix of English Bond and Flemish Bond styles, and the first floor is tile hung. The roof is plain tiled. Originally, it was an end jettied hall house. The farmhouse has two storeys and an attic, sitting on a ragstone plinth, with a jetty on the right return supported by dragon posts. The roof is hipped with gablets and includes a gabled dormer on the right return. There is a free-standing and offset brick stack attached to the rear right. The windows consist of two 20th-century wooden casements on each floor, with an additional one on each floor of the right return. There are French doors in a single-storey extension on the left end. The main entry is located at the rear in the 20th-century wing, accessed by a glazed door. A queen post roof has been reported.
