Description
WICKHAM THE SQUARE, SOUTH EAST SIDE SU 5711 10/42 Nos 5 and 5A (Formerly Barclays Bank and No5) GV II
House, and separate (5a) small office. Cl7 timber frame with C18 cladding and C20 additions. Brick walls of Flemish bond with blue headers, rubbed cambered arches. Tile roof, hipped at the south side. The front elevation of No5 is symmetrical, of two storeys two windows. Upper sashes, lower casements. Wood doorcase with pediment, frieze, eared architraves and 4-panelled door. The forecourt of the house is protected by a low brick wall with glazing above. Framing is exposed within, indicating an altered roof pitch. The office appears as a two- storeyed narrow projecting unit at the north side, with a flat roof, upper double door and shopfront.
