Description
The King's Head Hotel is a public house dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century, with some late 19th-century features. The building has walls of painted brickwork in Flemish bond, a plinth, and a thin first-floor band that connects triple keys to oval arches. There are recessed panels below impost bands on each side of the carriage arch located on the north side. The roof is tiled, and there is a wood cornice with dentils.
The southeast front is symmetrical, featuring two storeys with three windows, while the north side projects with one window over two storeys. The upper sashes are triple above the carriage entrance, and the ground-floor windows are casements in a "local brewery" style. The entrance has a Doric porch with an open pediment, a panelled soffit, a dentilled cornice, triglyphs, two pilasters, and two mid-19th-century cast iron columns that are thinner in proportion and have heavy caps.
