Description
Knights is a building group of houses, now used as offices, situated above shops. It dates from the late 19th century and mid 19th century, featuring elements from both periods as well as late 19th and 20th century additions. The main wall is made of stucco, with a plinth, shallow rustic quoins, and cambered openings. It has a panelled parapet with a moulded cornice that includes bold dentils, while the other walls are constructed of painted brickwork. The building has a tiled roof.
The main section displays a symmetrical mid 19th century classical facade, consisting of two storeys with two windows and a central panel above a square carriage opening. There is also a late 20th century attic storey with three windows. The windows are casements, and there are three shopfront bays. The north side, which is two storeys with two windows, has a vernacular style and features a simple classical doorcase. Additionally, there is another entrance located in the rounded curve of the corner of the building, leading to the shop on the south side.
