Description
Bugle Cottages is a row of small houses, originally three, built in the mid-18th century, with features added in the 19th and 20th centuries. The walls are constructed of blue headers with flush red quoins and rubbed arches. Below the upper window sills, there is a band of Flemish bond with blue headers, which is situated above another band of blue headers. The lower walls, including the north side, are made of Flemish bond with blue headers. The roof is tiled, with the north side featuring a lower-pitched slate roof that matches the eaves level of the main structure. The southeast front elevation has two storeys, with four windows on the upper level (one of which is blank) and three on the lower level. The upper windows are Victorian sashes, while the lower ones are a mix of 19th and 20th-century casements. There are two plain doorways, and one doorway has been altered with brickwork. Additionally, No 3, located at the rear, is a 19th-century extension with brick walls and a slate roof.
