Description
Coppice Hill House is a house located on Fareham Road in Bishops Waltham. It dates from the 17th century, with significant changes made in the 18th century and an early 19th-century extension. The walls are made of painted brickwork, with some tile-hanging and a small exposure of the timber frame. The original structure was reclad and renovated with 18th-century features, and a rear addition with a double-hipped roof was added. In the early 19th century, another taller rear extension was constructed.
The northeast front elevation is two storeys high and features three windows with 18th-century leaded casements. There is a doorway with an open pediment supported by carved brackets, framed by a plain surround that contains a six-panelled door, two of which are glazed at the top. The later wing includes early 19th-century sash windows, and there is a rear doorway with a hood on brackets leading to another six-panelled door. Inside, the house boasts a fine 18th-century staircase, doors set in architraves, and a fireplace.
