Description
Austin and Wyatt, originally a house from the 17th century, now serves as offices. The building primarily dates from the late 18th century and features walls made of brickwork with blue headers and red dressings. It has rubbed flat arches, a flush first-floor band, and a brick dentil eaves cornice, with Flemish bond brickwork below the ground-floor cill level. The roof is tiled. The symmetrical north front elevation is two storeys high with three windows, featuring sashes in exposed frames, with a triple arrangement on each side. The entrance has a Doric doorcase with dentils, an open pediment, fluted pilasters, an arched opening with a plain fanlight, panelled reveals, and a six-panelled door. At the rear, there is a wing with exposed timber framing. Inside, the building retains an original plain staircase, panelled doors within architraves, dado panelling in a rear room, and an archway in the hall.
