Description
Orchard Cottage and Workshop is a cottage with an attached workshop, dating from the 18th and early 19th centuries. The main part of the building is a three-bay 18th-century cottage, featuring a wing at the rear of the central bay, and a two-bay 19th-century cottage attached to the right wing. The entrance is through a 19th-century door located in a brick-tiled gabled porch, positioned between the central and right bays of the 18th-century section, which has a baffle entry. On the left side, there are two 18th-century two-light casement windows, while the right side has two and three-light casements with camber heads. The 19th-century building has a similar porch between its bays. Above each bay, there is an eyebrow dormer with a three-light casement. The roof is half-hipped, featuring a brick stack at each end of the central bay of the 18th-century building and an octagonal brick stack in the right hip. At the rear, there is a hipped wing and two single-storey lean-tos. Additionally, there is a 20th-century two-bay garage/store with a thatched roof used for split logs.
