Description

Bramble and Homa Cottage is a pair of cottages dating from the 17th and 19th centuries. They are constructed with a timber frame and plaster infill, with brick elements, all rendered and topped with thatched roofs and brick stacks. Bramble, the 17th-century cottage, features two bays and has a modern wing at the rear. It is two stories tall, with a door at the right end next to Homa, which is at a higher level but has a continuous ridge. Bramble has a 20th-century thatched timber porch, a small two-light casement window to the right, and a larger two-light casement in the left bay. Above the door and window, there is a four-light casement, and above the other window, a three-light casement. The inner end of the left bay has a stack with a staircase located between it and the front, featuring a single light on an intermediate level.

Homa is one and a half stories high and has a central door with a tiled 20th-century porch. On each side of the door, there are two-light casement windows, with a four-light casement window in a large eyebrow dormer above the door and the left window, and a smaller eyebrow dormer with a two-light casement above the other window. The roof is hipped, with a ridge piece and a ridge stack for Bramble located between the bays, and a smaller ridge stack over the other window for Homa.
