Description
This barn, located 50 metres north of the Manor House, dates from around 1700. It features a timber-frame construction that is weatherboarded and sits on a brick plinth, topped with a corrugated asbestos sheet roof. The barn has nine bays and includes midstray porches in the second bay from the right and the third bay from the left, along with a stable door in the left bay. To the right of the centre, there is a late 18th-century engine house with a half-octagon hipped roof, supported at the corners by brick piers. On either side, there are 19th-century five-bay wings with half-hipped roofs. Inside, the barn has a queen post roof with straight braces to cambered ties, curved braces to the aisle plate, and straight windbraces. The posts rest on baseplates on the brick walls and are tied to the tops of the walls.
