Description
Yew Tree Cottage is a cottage from the 18th century that was altered in the early 20th century by G H Kitchin. It is constructed of flint with brick dressings and additions, topped with an old plain tile roof. The building has one and a half storeys and features four bays, with an outshot on the left end. The entrance is located in a brick porch beneath a large hipped roof supported by wooden columns, designed by Kitchin.
On either side of the porch, there are two-light leaded casements with segmental heads, and in the left bay, there are French windows and a canted flat-roofed bay window with a door in the outshot. To the right of the porch, there is a small canted flat-roofed bay, and in the added right bay, there is another two-light leaded casement with a segmental head. The first floor features four tall two-light leaded casements set in hipped dormers. The roof is half-hipped on the right side and hipped and swept down on the left. There are chimney stacks located in front of the ridge above the porch and at the right end of the original building.
