Description

A row of cottages dating from the 17th century, with later alterations and additions in the early 19th century. The buildings are timber-framed with brick infill, and refronted, with thatched roofing to the older cottage and old plain tile roofing to the others. The original three-bay section of the 17th century is joined to a four-bay cottage added in the early 19th century. The older part has an approximately central 20th-century gabled brick porch. It features two-light casement windows on the ground floor, and three-light casements in the end bays, all with cambered heads. Above, there are three large two-light casement windows within eyebrow dormers. The roof is hipped to the left, with a large ridge stack to the right of the centre. The 19th-century addition features a 20th-century glazed porch in the left bay and a 19th-century planked door in an open-gabled timber porch between the right bays. Various two- and three-light casement windows are present. The roof is half-hipped to the right, with an external end stack and a ridge stack approximately central.
