Description

An 18th-century barn, converted to a residence in 1980, stands on Compton Street in Compton. The barn is timber-framed and weatherboarded, with a thatched roof featuring wide tiled valleys. It is a five-bay aisled barn, with an additional bay added to the left. A central hipped midstray porch is supported by brackets, with glazed openings. Each bay contains two full-height, two-light windows, and there are glazed ends. The roof is half-hipped, with a wide hip extending over the added left bay, which incorporates a stack. The original timber frame has been retained and is exposed internally.
