Description
Drovers Cottage is a cottage dating from around 1500, with alterations made in the 18th century and early 20th century by G H Kitchin. The building features a timber frame encased in brick and has an old plain tile roof. It is 1½ storeys high and consists of four bays plus a passage bay. The front of the cottage includes an early 20th-century porch that has a hip roof and is made of brick and timber, with eaves that are higher than the rest of the house. To the right of the centre, there is a flat dormer with a 2-light leaded casement window above the hall bay, and the centre passage bay is marked by a small light high on the wall. The parlour bay on the right features a 2-light leaded casement with a segmented head, while the service bay has a canted bay window designed by Kitchin and a 3-light casement window from the 20th century in the left bay. On the first floor, there are three flat-roofed dormers, and the roof is hipped with a ridge stack located above the passage bay.
