Description

This is a row of cottages with a 17th-century core, significantly refronted in the 18th century and extended in the 19th century. The original structure has a timber-frame and is now encased in brick, topped with an old plain tile roof. The main three-bay 17th/18th-century building is accompanied by 18th-century wings at each end and has two 19th-century bays added to the right. The cottages are one-and-a-half storeys high. The front features two planked doors placed side-by-side to the left of the centre. In the older bays, there are 18th-century, two-light casement windows with segmental heads. The left bays also feature large, segmental-headed cross-windows. Above each bay are irregular eyebrow dormers, each containing a two-light casement. The roof is half-hipped and includes a large stack between the right bays, a stack at the left end of the original building, and another between the 18th-century wings.
