Description
No 7 and 7A on East Street is a house and shop dating from the 18th century. The building features roughcast walls and a tile roof, standing two storeys tall with an attic and two windows. The windows are sashes set in exposed frames, and there is a wide angular bay on the west side. The doorcase for No. 7A is more elaborate, featuring a pediment with a dentilled cornice that breaks forward at each side, a plain frieze, thin pilasters beneath console brackets, an architrave, and a six-panelled door. In contrast, the door for No. 7 is plain, with an architrave and a modern half-glazed door. The roof includes two hipped dormers with casements and an old stack. At the rear, there is a catslide roof, along with hipped outshots and slates at the lowest level.
