Description

This is a terrace of three houses, extended at the east to include a carriage entrance for number 22. The terrace was built in 1813. It is constructed of painted brick with a slate roof and has two storeys and 3 plus 1 upper windows. Numbers 16 and 18 are original. They have later sash windows within the original frames. The ground floor of number 18 features a wide bow front with 40 panes, a moulded cornice, and a decorative frieze. Number 20 has a modern casement window above a recently constructed bow-fronted bay, and the easternmost unit has an angular bay above the carriage entrance. The three houses share identical doorcases, each with a 6-panelled door (the lower panels reeded) above three steps. The doorcases have panelled reveals (again with reeded lower panels), narrow pilasters with cut scroll brackets, and a flat hood with a moulded cornice and reeded frieze, which breaks forward in a segmental curve.
