Description

Peaceful Home is a public house built in the 18th century and refronted in the early 19th century. It features a stucco exterior with a tile roof and stands two stories tall, with four regularly spaced windows. The building has a plinth, a moulded band at the first floor, and a parapet with a band and coping. The windows are Victorian sashes set in reveals. The stucco doorway has a concave top above a moulded cornice, heavy console brackets, a plain frame, and a half-glazed door. On the east side, there is a carriage entrance adorned with ornamental cast-iron corner brackets. The building has a hipped roof and additional rear extensions. A high wall provides privacy to the rear yard from the passageway leading to George Yard.
