Description

Semaphore Cottage is a Napoleonic semaphore station cottage, built around 1800 and restored in 1984. The building is constructed of stuccoed brick with incised masonry lines and features slate roofs. It has a two-bay by two-bay layout with a single bay at the rear in the center, and it is a single storey on a raised basement. The front of the cottage has blind basement openings in a high plinth and two 19th-century cross-windows. It also includes a moulded cornice and a low parapet, with a hipped roof over each bay.
