Description
The Community Centre, also known as the Town Hall, is a civic hall built in the mid-19th century. It features brick construction with stucco details and a slate roof. The building has a classical design with a symmetrical front facing north, standing two storeys tall and comprising three windows. The walls are made of yellow brick, accented with stucco dressings, including a plinth and cambered arches above the wide ground-floor openings, which contain fanlights above double 1 ½-glazed doors.
On the first floor, there is a moulded band and a moulded cill band for the round-headed sash windows. Above these, the building has a frieze and a modillion cornice that follows a steep pediment, which encloses a small circular opening.
To the east side, there is a single-storeyed entrance featuring a recessed plain arch within an arch, complete with a keystone and impost mouldings. Above this arch, a parapet is decorated with swag ornamentation and topped with a coping. The upper part of the east side has arched windows overlooking the entrance corridor, which leads to a prominent square two-storeyed block visible from the churchyard. This block has coupled arched windows on the upper floor, an eaves cornice, and a low-pitched pyramid roof.
