Coaching inn. Early C19. Stucco, brick at rear, with a tile roof. 2 storeys and attic, a regular front (north) of 5 windows and side (to Station Road) of 0.3 windows. Eaves cornice and frieze, broken forward above keys to the upper windows, 1st floor band, moulded quoins, plinths; eaved architraves to the 1st floor openings, the ground-floor having a cornice on brackets above architraves, with cills on brackets. Victorian sashes, sashes to 4 dormers (with cambered lead roofs). The wide entrance (former carriageway) is in a Tuscan Order with 2 pilasters, now with narrowed opening for double doors within side panels (both ½-glazed). The west (mid C19) elevation has a gable with ornamental bargeboard, a blank 1st floor panel, and 2 doorways. Extensive rear buildings, mainly with tile (some slate) roofing, and with brick and painted brick walling, all with vernacular features.
