Description

Swallows Rest is a semi-detached cottage, now functioning as a single dwelling, dating from the late 18th century. It features bordered cob construction and a thatched roof. Each cottage has two bays, with an outshot at one end and stands at one and a half storeys high. The inner bay has a two-light leaded casement window, while the outer bay and outshot have a 20th-century glazed or planked door. Above each bay, there are early 19th-century two-light cast-iron casement windows set in brickwork, located in eyebrow dormers. The roof is hipped and slopes down at each end, with a ridge piece and a large central stack.
