Description

The Old Kennels are a pair of early 19th century cottages situated on Millers Lane, near Olivers Battery. Constructed of rendered cob with a thatched roof, the cottages have a blank front elevation facing the roadside. The garden side is two storeys and two bays each, with a later bay added to the left-hand cottage. Twentieth-century glazed doors have been inserted into the original doorways between the bays. The inner bays feature three-light casement windows, while the outer bays have single casement windows. Above each bay are eyebrow dormers containing two-light casement windows; the added bay also has a two-light casement. The roof is hipped and slopes down to the left. A central brick ridge stack is present.
