Description
Field House is a 16th-century cottage constructed with a timber frame and brick infill, featuring a weatherboarded outshot on one side and a thatched roof. The building has three bays and is oriented end-on to the road, with a jettied road end and two storeys. The entrance side includes a 20th-century hip-roofed brick porch located in the central bay towards the rear, with a baffle entry and a door at the opposite end of the same bay. There are small two-light casements between the porch and the door, along with two early 19th-century cast-iron casements above. Similar casements are found in the other bays. The road end is jettied, supported by moulded brackets, with the lowest panels infilled with flint. The roof is half-hipped and sweeps down on the other side, featuring two ridge stacks at each end of the central bay.
