Description

Old Post Office Cottage is a pair of cottages, one of which was formerly a post office and is now a house. The buildings date from the 17th and 18th centuries and feature a timber frame encased in brick with a plain tiled roof. The structure is 1½ storeys high and has a three-window range along its length. There is a door located at the left of the right bay, which is set within a mid-20th century tiled gabled brick porch. To the left, there are three-light cast iron casements with camber heads and a small single hearth light. The cottage also has three 19th-century gabled dormers that have shaped barge boards and three-light casements. The roof is step-pitched but has an outshot to the rear, with gable end stacks and a ridge stack positioned to the left of center.
