Description

Box Cottage is an 18th-century cottage constructed from rendered cob and weatherboarded timber frame, topped with a thatched roof. The building has one and a half storeys and features a three-window range, with a fourth bay on the right that is weatherboarded. There is a battle entry door at the inner end of the left bay, and to the right, a small three-light window. The masonry is squared render. Above, there are three regular eyebrow dormers, each with 19th-century two-light casements that have glazing bars and brick cills. The roof is half-hipped, with wide eaves and a small brick stack at the ridge.
