Description
The Thatched House is a pair of cottages, now combined into one, dating from the late 17th century and 18th century. The building features a timber frame with brick infill and painted brick, topped with a thatched roof that has a brick ridge and gable stacks. It is a single storey with attics and has a north elevation consisting of three bays. The right-hand bay is made of brick and includes a two-light and a four-light segment-headed window on the ground floor. The left side of the two bays shows exposed box framing with tension braces. There is a central doorway with a 19th-century half-glazed door, a two-light casement to the right, and a four-light casement to the left. Above, there are three dormers, two with two lights and one with three lights. Inside, the building features exposed beams and stud partitions.
