Description
Lock's Farmhouse Granary is a late 19th-century granary.
The structure is built with timber boarding over a timber frame and has a shingle roof. It faces east and consists of a single room. The exterior features vertical tongue and groove boarding beneath a shallow, hipped roof. It is supported by cast iron, mushroom-shaped staddle stones at each corner, and the machine-cut floor frame is visible from below. The east elevation includes an unattached stone step leading to a central, timber-planked door with strap hinges, accompanied by a small, high-set window. The west and south elevations have rectangular, metal casement windows with diamond-shaped leaded lights, while the north elevation is blank.
Inside, the walls and floor are also clad in tongue and groove boarding. There is some graffiti on the wall to the right of the door, which may date from the 19th century. The roof structure consists of machine-cut timbers.
