Description

Mount Pleasant Farmhouse is an 18th-century farmhouse, altered in the early 19th century. It is constructed of brick with a roof of old plain tiles. The farmhouse is L-shaped, comprising a three-bay main block and a wing to the rear. The main block is two storeys and an attic, and includes a cellar. The front elevation features a centrally positioned, gabled brick porch dating to the 19th century, with a half-glazed door and a pointed fanlight above. To the left of the porch is a cellar light with a brick head. Either side of the porch are early 19th-century three-light cast iron casement windows with small panes and interlacing glazing bars, each set within a segmental arch. A raised brick band runs along the first floor. Similar windows are present on the first floor, with two-light cast iron casements above the porch, again with segmental arches. The eaves are dentilled. Three dormers with two-light, leaded casements are set into the roof. Chimneys are positioned at the ends of the building.
