Description

Horsebridge Mill and Mill House is a mill and attached mill house built in the early 19th century, with a late 20th-century extension. The structure is made of brick and has a pantile roof. The mill features five bays and stands three stories tall with an attic, while the mill house to the right has two stories and four bays, including a wing at the rear on the left and a taller two-story, four-bay addition from the 20th century.

The mill includes a race under the left bay, and the second bay from the right has doors on each floor, with segmental heads on the lower two. Above this bay, there is a lucam in the roof overhang. The other bays feature 19th-century cast-iron segmental head windows with 24 panes. Inside, the construction includes cast-iron columns and I-beams made by Joseph of Ringwood. Under the left bay, there are remains of an Armfield of Ringwood turbine and sluice gate gear.

The mill house has a 20th-century six-panel door and fanlight beneath an open porch supported by brick piers. The right bay contains an 18th-century 16-pane sash window under a rubbed brick arch, with a similar window above. The other bays have five early 19th-century 16-pane sashes under segmental heads. A stack is positioned on the ridge between the left bays, and the 20th-century addition is designed to match the original style.
