Description

Dixon House is a house that dates back to the 16th century but was refronted in the 18th century. It has a timber frame encased in brick and features a thatched roof. The building is two stories high and has three bays, with an outshot at the rear. The front includes an 18th-century six-panelled door set in a panelled reveal, which is framed by a doorcase with pilasters and a moulded hood supported by replacement timber posts, positioned to the right of the center. Each bay contains wide 20-pane sash windows from the 18th, 19th, and 20th centuries. There is a string course at the first floor level and a large L-section ridge stack located above the door, along with a stack at the left end. A 20th-century addition is set back at the left end of the house.
