Description
Meadowsweet is a cottage that dates back to the 15th century, with an extension from the 16th century. It features a cruck timber-frame construction, is weatherboarded, and sits on a brick plinth with sections of timber-frame that include wattle and daub and colourwashed brick infill. The cottage has a thatched roof.
The original 15th-century part consists of two bays and is one and a half storeys high, with a planked door and a three-light casement window on the front. There is also a three-light casement in the gable. A small light is present in the weatherboarded link to the 16th-century wing, which has three two-light casements and two additional two-light casements in eyebrow dormers. The roof is half-hipped, featuring a ridge stack located between the two bays of the 16th-century extension and where the ridges meet.
