Description

This barn, located 10 meters north of Charity Farm House, dates from the 17th or 18th century. It features a timber-frame structure that is weatherboarded and partly rebuilt in concrete block, with a brick plinth and a thatched roof. The barn has three bays at the end facing the road and includes a hip bay. The center bay is open on one side, while the road end bay contains a 19th-century two-light casement window, and there is a high set door at the opposite end. The roof is hipped and slopes down at the road end. Inside, there is a queen post roof with posts resting on baseplates, which are now supported by brick piers. The roof also includes ties to the top of the wall, curved braces to the ties, and straight braces to the aisle plates.
