Description

The Old Farm House, now a cottage, dates from the mid-18th century, although it may incorporate an earlier core, with a 19th-century addition. The house is constructed of brick with a flint end wall, and has thatch and slate roofs. It is originally a symmetrical two-bay, one-and-a-half-storey building, with a single-storey bay added to the right. A central planked door is set within a solid frame, and is flanked by two-light casements with planked shutters, all within a segmental head opening. Two further two-light casements are located in eyebrow dormers. The 19th-century bay contains a 20th-century three-light casement placed within a segmental head. The roof is punctuated by a ridge piece and end stacks, with the left-hand stack being external. The 19th-century roof is half-hipped.
