Description
Haywoods Butchers is a house with an attached shop, dating from the mid-18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of painted brick and has an old plain tile roof. It is two stories tall and has a three by two bay layout, with a single-storey shop added to one end. The front features an addition on the right-hand end, which has a flat roof and a large three-light shop window. The right-hand bay of the house includes a 19th-century shop front with a glazed door and shop window. A 20th-century fascia extends from above this shop window to the end of the window in the addition. The center bay has a six-panel top-lit door beneath an open pediment hood supported by brackets. The left-hand bay features a four-pane sash window with a segmental head. On the first floor, there are two four-pane sash windows. The roof is hipped.
