Description
A pair of semi-detached cottages dating from the mid-19th century, built by the Cadland Estate. The cottages are constructed of yellow brick with a slate roof. They are arranged as 1 1/2 storeys and 4 bays, featuring paired gabled projections in the centre bays, which are symmetrical in design. Each cottage has a two-light cast iron casement window set under a hood-mould, within the central bay projections, and these windows are topped with bargeboards. Open lean-to porches with trellised sides shelter a six-panel door located in the outer bay of each cottage. Raised quoins mark the corners of the building. A large central ridge stack has four shafts joined together at the head. They form part of an important group of buildings around the village square.
