Description
Sopley Mill is a mill built in 1878, constructed from blue brick with an older millhouse. The building features a brick exterior and a slate roof. It is four storeys high with five bays, and at one end, there is a two-storey millhouse along the lane. The front of the mill has doors in the right-hand two bays, with a millstream running beneath the centre. The other bays and storeys have 12-pane sash windows set under segmental heads, and there is a raised band on the third floor. The far end of the mill has a lean-to that contains an added turbine. The lane end features a third-floor lucum and doors on the other floors. Some equipment remains scattered around the site. The mill is currently used as offices and a warehouse.
