Description

This is an 18th-century building of stucco construction with tiled roofs, comprising numbers 16 to 18 High Street. Number 16 is three stories high, while numbers 17 and 18 are two stories high with two attic dormers. There are five windows in total. Number 16 features a four-light canted bay window on both the first and second floors, topped with a dentil cornice. The windows are sash windows, with only number 17 retaining vertical glazing bars. The shop fronts are from the 19th century; number 16 has twisted pilasters, and number 18 features arched lights. Numbers 11 to 18, along with the raised pavement and railing in front, and Elgar Court behind number 18, form a group of buildings of local interest.
