Description
59 and 61 Christchurch Road are a pair of cottages built in the early 19th century. They are constructed of brick and topped with a slate roof. The cottages are two stories high and have three bays. In the center, there are a pair of six-flush-panel doors with a fanlight above, all set on a stone step and located under depressed arches with moulded springings. On either side of the doors, there are 16-pane sash windows, with three similar windows on the first floor, all positioned under rubbed arches. The cottages feature end stacks. They are included in the listing for their group value and as a rare example of this early 19th-century building type.
