Description
Trinity Congregational Church is a non-conformist church built in 1866 by T.H. Hellyer. It features yellow brick with stone dressings and a slate roof. The church is a five-bay structure with a low building at one end. The west front, which faces the road, has a large four-light Decorated window with a string course running beneath it on either side. An octagonal tower rises to the gable, topped with large stone pinnacles, and there is a clock in the gable. Near each corner, there are pointed doorways with hood-moulds. The church is supported by stepped angle buttresses, which are topped with stone square-section pinnacles that have several carved tiers. The sides of the building have tall lancet windows and additional stepped buttresses.
