Description

Clark's Almshouses are a pair of almshouses built in 1843 for a foundation established by William Clark in 1833. The buildings are constructed of brick with blue brick decoration and stone dressings, topped with a slate roof. They are two stories high, featuring projecting end wings and a five-bay layout. The central section has a double gable. Each floor has a series of 1-2-2-1 three-light mullion and transom windows, with small gables at the eaves level above the windows. The end wings are adorned with Flemish gables, and there are moulded brick Tudor-style stacks with paired shafts.
