Description

Sydney House is a building, originally a house and now offices, dating back to the 18th century, with a remodelling in the 19th century. It is constructed of painted brick with an old plain tile roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays, plus a narrower bay containing a stack. Most of the front was rebuilt in the 19th century. The right-hand bay contains the stack, and the other bays have a central doorway on two stone steps. The door itself is a six-panel door with a top light, set within a reveal and architrave, with cut brackets supporting a pediment. Above the door is a sash window. Either side of the doorway are tripartite sash windows. A blocked small window is present in the narrow bay. Chimney stacks are located at the ends of the building.
