Description
Bickerley is a cottage dating from the 18th century, with alterations made in the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of painted brick and features a thatched roof. The building is one and a half stories tall with two bays and a stack bay, along with an added bay on the side of the end stack bay. The front of the cottage has a stack bay to the right of the center, which includes a baffle entry ledged door beneath a thatch hood. The right-hand added bay, which slightly projects, has a plank door with an inserted light also under a thatch hood. Each bay contains a one, two, or three-light casement window. Above the left-hand bays are two-light eyebrow dormers, while above the right-hand bay is a 18th-century three-light eyebrow dormer. All windows feature leaded lights, some of which are old. The roof is half-hipped, and there is a ridge stack with two flues, one of which is partially demolished, located above the stack bay, along with a projecting stack on the right end.
