Description

Cowslade Farmhouse is a 17th-century building with later additions. The original part has one storey and attics, while the newer sections at the rear and east end are two storeys high. The south front features six windows arranged in a 6:1 pattern. The main structure is timber-framed, with some parts exposed on the west gable and north side, and is clad in brick. The roof is covered with red tiles and has gables, although some modern extensions have hipped roofs. There are four dormers with boarded gables and a shafted chimney stack. The red brickwork is laid in Flemish bond, with cambered openings in the older walls. The windows are mostly casements, with one sash window located on the ground floor of the projecting east side wing. The entrance has a plain doorway with a modern timber porch.
