GV II

C17, C18, and circa 1900; Formerly Dipley Malthouse. A group to many small 2-storeyed units attached to form a group of small traditional buildings. The oldest southern block is a timber-framed house with a long red tiled north-south roof, with 3 gabled extensions to the west: shafted brick stack. The south and west sides have exposed framing in the upper part with red brick infill and some brick walling in English bond. The main part of the east front is a symmetrical C18 facade (of 3 windows) with parapet, red brick walling in Flemish bond, cambered openings and simple casements; the central doorcase has a fully moulded pediment on carved brackets, an architrave and a 6-panelled door 2 top panels glazed). There are several ground-floor bay windows at the south and west, of different form, otherwise casements. Small outshots, an elaborate attached chimney breast, make a complicated rear elevation. To the north, the later extensions are laid out in an elaborate zig-zag fashion, with set backs and gables, all having gabled red tile roofing, the upper walls boarded and the lower in red brick.
