Description

Dipley Grange is a building dating from the 17th century, 18th century, and around 1900, previously known as Dipley Malthouse. It consists of several small two-storey units that are attached to create a group of traditional buildings. The oldest section is a timber-framed house featuring a long red tiled roof that runs north-south, with three gabled extensions on the west side and a brick chimney stack. The south and west sides display exposed timber framing in the upper part, with red brick infill and some brick walling in English bond.

The main part of the east front showcases a symmetrical 18th-century facade with three windows, a parapet, and red brick walling in Flemish bond. It has cambered openings and simple casements, while the central doorcase features a fully moulded pediment supported by carved brackets, an architrave, and a six-panelled door with two glazed top panels. Several ground-floor bay windows on the south and west sides vary in design, with the remainder being casements. The rear elevation is complex, with small outshots and an elaborate attached chimney breast. To the north, later extensions are arranged in an intricate zig-zag pattern, with setbacks and gables, all topped with gabled red tile roofs, while the upper walls are boarded and the lower parts are in red brick.
