Description

Glen Cottage is a cottage that dates from the 17th century, 18th century, and 20th century. It is constructed of brick and thatch and has one storey with irregular window arrangements. The central section is a timber-framed building, which has a later timber-framed addition on the north side, and an 18th-century brick extension on the south side, along with a 20th-century outshot at the south end. The roof is hipped thatch, flat over the outshot. The exposed frame features painted brick infill, with part of the north end reclad, and the brickwork is arranged in panels. The plain south side has a cambered opening. The windows are casements, and there is a boarded door in a plain frame, which is enclosed in a 20th-century brick porch that has a gabled tile roof.
