Description

House. Dating to the 18th century, with early 19th-century and late 19th-century additions, Malthouse Farmhouse is constructed of brick with a tiled roof. The front (south) elevation was originally symmetrical, featuring five windows, but a western extension was added in the early 19th century, and the window arrangement was subsequently altered, now displaying three widely spaced upper windows. The roof is half-hipped with a moulded eaves cornice. The brickwork is in a Flemish bond pattern, with blue headers on the west side, and features rubbed flat arches and a plinth. The windows are Victorian sash windows in exposed frames, with one splayed bay on the west side. A massive framed porch with a gabled roof incorporates a 20th-century half-glazed door.
