Description
Old Park Farmhouse is a house that dates from the 17th century, with later alterations in the late 18th century and the 20th century. The walls are made of painted brick and stone, topped with a tiled roof. Originally a timber-framed structure, it features a large chimney breast. The exterior was reclad in ironstone with brick dressings, but most of the altered front is now brickwork. A rear extension from the 18th century is constructed of ironstone, and there are 20th-century additions at each end, each with its own roof system.
The front (west) elevation has two storeys and two windows, with a former central door now converted into a window. The wings on either side are set back and feature gables. The roof is plain, and the walls show signs of alteration. There are casement windows, including two ground floor splayed bays with hipped tile roofs and central French doors. A large half-octagonal porch from the 20th century is located in front of the south wing, featuring glazing, a hipped tile roof, and a boarded door. The rear elevation reveals the various changes made over time and has a small section of the original timber frame exposed.
