Barn 30 Metres South Of Mill Court

This building is a barn located 30 metres south of Mill Court, originally known as the Tithe Barn at Mill Court. It dates from the early 17th century and features malmstone walls and a tiled roof. The barn is rectangular, consisting of four bays, and has a disused dwelling attached to its west end.

The barn has thick walls with deep chamfered ventilation slots. The roof framework includes tie-beams with splayed struts, and on the south side, the eaves are lower above a timber-framed verandah. There is a central wagon entrance topped with a projected hipped roof. The attached house section has a symmetrical front facing south, with two storeys and an attic. It features two windows with triple lights that have chamfered mullions and frames, complete with hoodmoulds. The attic is set in a gabled upper wall, and the doorway, which has been restored, is in a Tudor style under a hoodmould.

The interior is supported by a massive timber framework, although part of the flooring and the upper staircase flight are missing. The north side of the barn mirrors the design of the south side but lacks the verandah, and the lower openings to the house part have been filled.
