Large house. Early and late C19. Stone and slate. House of classical form, with later unequal wings, recessed at each side. Symmetrical front (north) of 2 storeys, 5 windows, with west side of 2 storeys, 1 (upper) window, and east of 2-storeys and attic, 2 above 1 windows. Low pitched hipped roof, with wide eaves on coupled carved brackets. Ashlar malmstone walls, plain architraves, plinth. Victorian sashes in reveals. Ionic porch of 2 columns, 2 pilasters, pediment, pulvinated frieze, arched entrance with radiating fanlight, 6 panelled door, on 8 steps. The upper part of each wing is in yellow brickwork, the east having 2 gabled ½ dormers, and casements. The garden (south)elevation is similar, with a solid porch (c1900) with side windows, rusticated Ionic columns, and a circular light to the 1/2-glazed door: the east side has been altered, with a 3-sash wide ground-floor window, of slight bow-shaped projection.
