Description
Mill Court is a large house built in the early and late 19th century, constructed from stone and slate. It features a classical design with later unequal wings that are recessed on each side. The symmetrical front faces north and consists of two storeys with five windows. The west side has two storeys with one upper window, while the east side has two storeys and an attic with two windows above one. The house has a low-pitched hipped roof with wide eaves supported by coupled carved brackets. The walls are made of ashlar malmstone, with plain architraves and a plinth. Victorian sash windows are set in reveals.
An Ionic porch with two columns, two pilasters, a pediment, and a pulvinated frieze features an arched entrance with a radiating fanlight and a six-panelled door, accessed by eight steps. The upper parts of each wing are finished in yellow brickwork, with the east wing featuring two gabled half-dormers and casement windows. The garden elevation to the south is similar, with a solid porch dating from around 1900 that includes side windows, rusticated Ionic columns, and a circular light above the half-glazed door. The east side has been altered, featuring a ground-floor window with three sashes that has a slight bow-shaped projection.
